چکیده

In this study, a new three-statement randomized response estimation method is proposed to improve the drawback that maximum likelihood could generate negative value estimate sensitive-nature proportion (SNP) when its true small. The Bayes estimator of SNP obtained via using hierarchical Bayesian modeling procedure. Moreover, hybrid algorithm Gibbs sampling in Metropolis–Hastings algorithms used obtain SNP. highest posterior density interval based on empirical distribution Markov chains. We use term 3RR-HB denote here. Monte Carlo simulations show quality procedure good and it can method. simple for use. An example regarding homosexual college freshmen illustration.

Bayesian non-randomized response models for surveys with sensitive questions

Three non-randomized response (NRR) models (namely, the non-randomized triangular, crosswise and hidden sensitivity models) have recently been developed for analyzing dichotomous sensitive questions. Unlike existing randomized response (RR) models, no randomizing device is required for NRR models. This helps to reduce the cost, increase the efficiency, ensure the reproducibility, widen the appl...

Structural Equation Modeling-Based Bayesian Method for Hierarchical Model Validation

Model validation involves quantitatively comparing model predictions with experimental observations, both of which contain uncertainty. A building block approach to model validation may proceed through various levels, such as material to component to subsystem to system. This paper presents a structural equation modeling-based Bayesian approach to make use of the low-level data for system-level...

Bayesian hierarchical modelling for inferring genetic interactions in yeast

Quantitative fitness analysis (QFA) is a high throughput experimental and computational methodology for measuring the growth of microbial populations. QFA screens can be used to compare the health of cell populations with and without a mutation in a query gene to infer genetic interaction strengths genomewide, examining thousands of separate genotypes. We introduce Bayesian hierarchical models ...

Randomized Algorithms for Fast Bayesian Hierarchical Clustering

We present two new algorithms for fast Bayesian Hierarchical Clustering on large data sets. Bayesian Hierarchical Clustering (BHC) [1] is a method for agglomerative hierarchical clustering based on evaluating marginal likelihoods of a probabilistic model. BHC has several advantages over traditional distancebased agglomerative clustering algorithms. It defines a probabilistic model of the data a...

A simple Bayesian method of inferring extinction

—Determining whether a species has gone extinct is a central problem in both paleobiology and conservation biology. Past literature has mostly employed equations that yield confidence intervals around the endpoints of temporal ranges. These frequentist methods calculate the chance of not having seen a species lately given that it is still alive (a conditional probability). However, any reasonab...
